Introducing Anna & Egyptian Nights Belly Dance....... Anna is a charismatic belly dance performer and tutor based in North Bristol, where she lives with her husband Andy. She is an expressive dancer who unlocks the beauty of the music to captivate her audiences with personality, passion, love and ‘authentic’ Egyptian feeling. She dances beautifully and is infamous for entertaining with her shimmy which never stops!! Anna fell in love with Egyptian dance in 1994 at Glastonbury pop festival, where she was mesmerized by a dancer in a white costume balancing a candle on her head! Anna felt her hips twitching to the Arabic rhythms and the love affair has continued ever since. Anna formed her company ‘Egyptian Nights’ in Spring 2002 to provide professional Belly Dance performances in a range of styles with dramatic props, beautiful costumes and weekly dance tuition. The ethos of the company is to bring the magic of Egyptian Dance and the heart of Cairo to you. Anna specialises in sharing this in her popular harem style girlie and hen parties. Anna’s classes are now well established and she regularly teaches over 100 students a week. Since October 2006 Anna has performed her stunning floor show, as the resident dancer at Byzantium, Bristol’s top class Oriental theme venue and restaurant. Anna has wished countless hens on their way and Egyptian Nights specialises in Belly Dance Hen & girlie parties and Troupe Performances for Arabic themed corporate events. Anna loves dancing for all occasions and adores the opportunity to work with live music. |

Anna's Training Her love affair with this dance has led her to research and study extensively in Cairo, Berlin, Finland as well as the UK with world leading choreographers. Some of her main influences include Mahmoud Reda, Khaled Mahmoud, Aida Nour, Lubna, Raqia Hassan, Serena & Hossam Ramzy, Jacqui Jamal, Beata & Horacio Ciffuentes, Caroleana Fat Chance Belly Dance and the Belly Dance Superstars team.

Anna's Classes Anna’s classes are relaxed and informal and she teaches by breaking down the moves so anyone can understand them with an emphasis on fun. A typical class will start with a warm-up, some shimmy antics, technique tuition which is worked into a simple choreography for beginners and is more challenging for intermediate students! People come to classes for all different reasons, but everyone benefits from the exercise and socialising with other women. |

Anna’s performance repertoire includes Shamadan or candelabra, sword, double Isis wings in renaissance gold & fire organza, Khaleeji and many Oriental and Folk styles.
